Founded in 1952, Givenchy has become synonymous with luxurious Parisian style. With creative director Riccardo Tisci at the helm, the iconic brand’s menswear collection now has a sleeker, darker look. Its signature pieces aim to be wearable and empowering with tailored and refined distinction.
About Givenchy (French pronunciation: [ʒivɑ̃ʃi]) is a French brand of clothing, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics with Parfums Givenchy.
The house of Givenchy was founded in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy and is a member of Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture et du Pret-a-Porter. It is owned by luxury goods behemoth LVMH and in 1993 achieved a total sales worth of $176 million, making it the second largest apparel division of LVMH after Dior.

History
Hubert de Givenchy retired in 1995. John Galliano was Givenchy’s successor at the head of the house. Galliano was moved on to Christian Dior and Alexander McQueen took his place at Givenchy. In 2001, Julien Macdonald was appointed Artistic Director for women’s haute couture and pret-a-porter. Finally, in 2005, Riccardo Tisci became in charge of both collections. Tisci is known for his like of gothic touches and space-age minimalism. Givenchy’s menswear line was relaunchedin Spring 2005 under fahsion designer Ozwald Boateng. Boateng introduced a definitive silhouette and style for the brand.
